Though
this diverse luxury goods brand creates jewelry, accessories,
fragrances, and cosmetics, Bvlgari also produces fantastic timepieces.
They develop their own calibers and parts, including highly complicated
mechanisms as well as basic calibers. Sotirios Voulgaris, a Greek
silversmith, founded Bvlgari in Rome in 1884; today manufacturing takes
place in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
Along with Diagono and BVLGARI
BVLGARI, the Octo is one of Bvlgari’s most celebrated collections. Take
one look at this magnificently designed Octo Bi Retro BGO43BSCVDBR and
you will see why. This watch is in new, showroom condition.
In addition to stunning good looks,
this timepiece delivers the goods in all departments. The self-winding
automatic movement features famed designer Gérald Genta’s GG7722 caliber
(based upon GP3100), 35 jewels, and a 45-hour power reserve.
The 43mm stainless steel case, which
is 12.35mm in height, showcases a fixed brushed ceramic bezel with
polished rivets. It also possesses a polished stainless steel push /
pull winding crown with a black ceramic cabochon, a transparent case
back, and a water resistance to 100 m / 10 atm. The bold and uniquely
shaped case rests upon a black stepped rubber strap with a deployant
clasp.
The true beauty of this timepiece is
to be found beneath the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It is there
that one encounters a stark, almost gauge-like deep black and
silver-colored dial replete with dynamic patterns and fascinating
complications.
There is a digital jumping hour
window above the Bvlgari logo. The hour jumps forward as each hour
passes. The retrograde minutes subdial possesses an arm that springs
back to its starting position once it reaches the 60-minute position,
and the retrograde date subdial can be found beneath the minutes
subdial. In addition, there are white printed Arabic numerals.
Bvlgari’s Octo Bi Retro BGO43BSCVDBR is
a fascinating timepiece, an achievement in unique design, and a true
conversation piece.
Standout features: Quality
caliber by famed designer Gérald Genta; fascinatingly unique
complications such as digital jumping hours, retrograde minutes, and a
retrograde date function.
