Antoine LeCoultre opened his workshop in 1833, and by 1866 his large, modern atelier became recognized as the first manufacture in Switzerland's Vallée de Joux. The Jaeger-LeCoultre brand, or JLC, was born in 1925 when Jacques-David LeCoultre (Antoine's grandson) and French watchmaker Edmond Jaeger merged their companies. With more than 1,000 employees Jaeger-LeCoultre is today the largest employer in the Vallée de Joux, as it was in the nineteenth century, and it is one of the few companies that produces its own cases, dials, hands, movements, etc.

One of JLC's most-celebrated timepieces is the landmark Reverso, which ingeniously features a case that flips over to reveal a fascinating back or second face or closed or see-through case back. This watch is perfect example of this ingenious invention.

This timepiece is powered by mechanical movement with automatic winding with power reserve of 48 hours. Elegant and understated stainless steel case is only 9.3 mm high and measures 24 x 40 mm (including lugs and excluding winding crown). It's crafted in stainless steel and stationary bezel is set with 32 Diamonds, approx. 0.53 ct, F-G Top Wesselton. The case rests upon a genuine black Alligator matte leather strap with stainless steel deployant clasp buckle. In addition, it possesses a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a solid case back appropriate for engraving / personalization. There is a 30 m / 3 atm water resistance.

The front silver tone dial with Applied floral numerals and Guilloche decoration displays "Home" time. The reversed dial is decorated with beautiful dark Mother-of-Pearl and applied Ray-shaped hour markers. The central part of the dial is slightly recessed. It can display "Home" time as well as 2nd Time Zone time by pressing on the pressure-sensitive inset located on the case side.
