Edouard Bovet established his eponymous Swiss watchmaking brand in the early nineteenth century, and for many decades the company dutifully supplied China’s high society with outstanding timepieces. Known for crafting exquisite dials and placing the crown at the 12 o’clock position, Bovet watches are assembled in the historic fourteenth-century Castle of Môtiers, located near Fleurier.

This Bovet Sportster Saguaro is in new condition and includes its original boxes and papers. A bold and unique timepiece in every regard, this self-winding automatic watch is driven by the 13BA01 caliber and has 28 jewels with a 42-hour power reserve.

The polished stainless steel case measures a formidable 46 mm in diameter and 17 mm in height. The screwed-down and protected winding crown is uniquely positioned at 12 o’clock, and the chronograph pushers can be found at 11 and 1, respectively.

Other case features include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a transparent case back, and an impressive 300 m / 30 atm water resistance. The case rests upon a black Alligator leather strap with a tang buckle.

The black-colored dial prominently showcases a large date window at 12, luminous skeletonized hands, and Art Deco-inspired Arabic numerals. Chronograph functions include a 30-minute counter at 9, a 12-hour counter at 3, and a fun squiggly center seconds arm. There is a small seconds counter at 6.

This watch includes two unique and convenient features: tachometer and pulsometer scales. The inner tachometer scale in white measures the working speed of an engine and the outer pulsometer scale in black allows one to measure a pulse rate.
