Cvstos, which is Latin for guardian, is a relative newcomer to the Swiss watchmaking scene. In 2005 Sassoun Sirmakes (son of Vartan Sirmakes of Franck Muller fame) joined forces with the talented designer/watchmaker Antonio Terranova, who had previously worked for TAG Heuer, Breitling, and Zenith.
From the start their timepieces exuded a wealth of ideas, realized in fantastic, unique dial designs. Today, celebrated Cvstos collections include the Challenge, Re-Belle, and Concept-S. Avant-garde concepts, modern materials such as titanium, palladium, and rubber, and utilizing tonneau-shaped cases continue to set the brand apart from the crowd.
The Cvstos workshop is located in a charming two-story traditional building that houses their modest horology atelier and offices. As such, Cvstos�s master watchmakers can be seen at work through spacious bay windows. Cvstos has many ambassadors in the professional racing world, including GP motorcycle rider Loris Baz, Moto-GP rider Dani Pedrossa, and race car driver Bill Auberlen.
