Omega
has always been driven by a pioneering spirit; in fact, no watch
company in the world holds more records for accuracy. Their watches have
been the timepiece of choice for some of history’s greatest
explorers—from deep-sea divers to astronauts.
Taking
inspiration from the rings of the Olympic Games, as well as historic
Omega stopwatches, this sporty Omega Olympic Official Timekeeper watch
offers a fascinating nod to the past, and, as a limited-edition
timepiece, only 2,032 pieces were produced, making it a challenge to
obtain.
As
a self-winding automatic watch, it is driven by the Omega Master
Co-Axial 8800 caliber, which delivers a resistance to magnetic fields up
to 15,000 gauss, and can be seen in motion via the exhibition case
back.
Its
stainless steel case measures 39 mm in diameter, 9 mm in height, and
rests upon a cool micro-perforated red-colored leather strap with a
stainless steel tang buckle.
Additional
case features include a push / pull winding crown and scratch-resistant
sapphire crystals on both sides. Upon the case back there is a red
anodized aluminum ring that displays Olympic host cities and dates from
1932 up to 2028.
The
minimalist black and white dial sports printed Arabic numerals,
lacquered hands, blue-colored central seconds hand and a date window
classically positioned at 6.
From
its limited-edition availability to its chronometer certification and
celebration of the Olympics, we are confident that this sporty and
minimalist masterpiece from Omega will make a wonderful addition to your
collection.
Standout feature(s): Limited-edition of 2,032 pieces produced; certified Master Chronometer; Olympic Games stylings.
