John
Arnold was a highly skilled and innovative British watchmaker of the
eighteenth and nineteenth centuries who did much to streamline and
industrialize the production of his timepieces. Ernest Shackleton,
Captain James Cook, and Dr. David Livingstone are just a few of the
explorers who took his chronometers with them on their adventures.
Today, the Swiss manufacturer Arnold & Son continues to produce
exacting timepieces with classic, elegant stylings.
With a spectacular dial like no other, this Globetrotter 45 by Arnold & Son places you firmly on top of the world.
Its
brushed, lacquered opaline dial showcases a sculpture of the northern
hemisphere, complete with hand-painted oceans and SuperLuminova-enriched
shorelines that glow in low light.
Printed
Roman numerals can be found upon the outer edge of the dial while
ringing the Earth there is a second time zone 24-hour scale.
While
the dial displays a singular debonair beauty, turn the timepiece over
to appreciate the exquisite beauty of the movement via the exhibition
caseback.
Here
we see the in-house self-winding automatic A&S6022 caliber in
action and are able to appreciate the Clous de Paris guilloché pattern
upon the oscillating weight. This movement beats at 28,800 vph,
possesses 29 jewels, and delivers a 45-hour power reserve.
The
stainless steel case measures 45 mm in diameter, 17 mm in height, and
rests upon a fashionable hand-stitched blue alligator leather strap with
a stainless steel prong buckle. Additional features include a push /
pull winding crown, 30 m / 3 atm water resistance, and a
scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
As
a work of art, it's difficult to surpass the Arnold & Son
Globetrotter 45. We are confident that it will take center stage in your
collection.
