Omega has always
been driven by a pioneering spirit; in fact, no watch company in the
world holds more records for accuracy. Their watches have been the
timepiece of choice for some of history’s greatest explorers—from
deep-sea divers to astronauts.
This Speedmaster 38 by Omega celebrates
Orbis International and its Flying Eye Hospital, which, since 1982, has
been an inspiring combination of aviation and medicine. Orbis
International’s plane is a state-of-the-art classroom and operating
theatre dedicated to eradicating avoidable blindness the world over.
As such, you will find Orbis
International details in the form of an Orbis Teddy Bear upon the case
back as well as upon the counterweight on the chronograph’s central
seconds hand.
The tachymetre scale upon a blue
aluminum ring serves to catch the eye on this sporty watch, as does the
sun-brushed blue dial. Eye-shaped subdials are a nice detail in a nod to
Orbis International’s mission.
You will find a small seconds at 9, a
date window at 6, and a minute track in white. Chronograph functions
include a 30-minute counter at 3 and a 12-hour counter at 6.
This watch’s stainless steel case
measures a comfortable 38 mm in diameter and rests upon a stainless
steel bracelet with a fold-over clasp with a push-button release.
Additional case features include a screw-down winding crown, a 100 m /
10 atm water resistance, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
As a certified chronometer, it delivers
an accuracy you can depend upon. The OMEGA 3330 self-winding automatic
co-axial escapement is in the captain’s chair here, and it delivers a
convenient 52-hour power reserve.
From its celebration of Orbis
International and its Flying Eye Hospital to its stellar chronometer
accuracy, we are confident that this Omega Speedmaster 38 will make an
excellent addition to your collection.
Standout feature(s): Dependable certified
chronometer with co-axial escapement and 52-hour power reserve;
convenient tachymetre scale; unique Orbis International Teddy Bear
counterweight and case back image stylings.
