Officine Panerai has roots dating back to 1860 when the company was founded in Florence, Italy, by Giovanni Panerai. Panerai built its solid reputation on supplying precision timekeeping instruments to the Italian navy and developing waterproof watches for soldiers who found themselves in extreme environments. More recently, the company moved its headquarters to Neuchâtel, Switzerland, where they have been producing quality in-house manufacture movements.

With its outstanding 300 m / 30 atm water resistance, protected winding crown, and screwed-down closed case back, this timepiece is built for exploring the deep. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, it sports a unidirectionally rotating tough ceramic bezel with a dive scale that lets you know when it’s time to surface.

The brushed stainless steel case measures 42 mm in diameter, 13.22 mm in height, and rests upon a rugged black rubber strap with a stainless steel prong buckle. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is slightly domed.

The black-colored dial offers luminous markers and hands and, true to Panerai form, there is a date window at 3 along with a small seconds at 9. As a self-winding automatic watch, this Submersible is driven by Panerai’s P.900 caliber, which beats at 28,800 vph, possesses 23 jewels, and offers up a wonderful three-day power reserve.
