Timepieces by Swiss watch manufacturer Roger Dubuis never disappoint. Offering a range of visionary, idiosyncratic, and flamboyant watches, these timepieces should not be ignored. Mr. Dubuis launched the brand along with Carlos Dias in 1995. Prior to that he had spent fourteen years at Patek Philippe.

Singular in its inspired design, this Roger Dubuis watch is a highly limited-edition timepiece where only 28 pieces were produced. As such, it can be difficult to obtain.

The splendid dial is positively alive with functions. At 9 you will find a retrograde day function and at 3 there is a retrograde date function. A lovely moon phase indicator at 6 adds a dash of celestial blue and gold. Blued steel hands are prominent against the silver-plated cream-colored dial with dynamically stretched silver-tone Roman numerals.

The luxurious ergonomic 18K rose gold case measures a healthy 57.5 mm x 34 mm, is 14.5 mm in height, and rests upon a black leather strap with after-market gold-plated buckle.

The signed and numbered exhibition case back allows you to see the movement in action, which, in this case (pun most definitely intended) is the self-winding automatic Roger Dubuis RD 5740, which beats at 21,600 vph and possesses 29 jewels. Additional features include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a 30 m / 3 atm water resistance.
