Omega has always been driven by a pioneering spirit; in fact, no watch company in the world holds more records for accuracy. Their watches have been the timepiece of choice for some of history’s greatest explorers—from deep-sea divers to astronauts. 

Produced from 1988 to 2009, the Omega Speedmaster Automatic is a smaller version of the Speedmaster Professional, hence its moniker of Reduced.

Quite popular in Japan, the Marui Edition references a department store chain of the same name, and, rather charmingly the word also means harmonious or calm.

Liberally spaced black subdials against a white dial earns pieces such as these the nickname, Panda. Speaking of subdials, there is a small seconds at 3 as well as a 30-minute chronograph counter at 9 and a 12-hour counter at 6.

The Hesalite crystal is a historic nod to the non-shattering material favored by astronauts. The stainless steel case measures a comfortable 39 mm in diameter, a super-thin 12 mm in height, and rests upon a stainless steel bracelet with a folding buckle.

Additional features include a solid caseback, water resistance to 30 m / 3 atm, and a push / pull winding crown. The printed markers are easy to read and there is a convenient tachymetre scale upon the bezel.
