Founded in
2003 and only producing around 2,000 pieces a year, B.R.M (Bernard Richards
Manufacture) watches are created in a small factory in Magny-sur-Vexin, which
is just outside Paris. The twenty or so employees take great pride in the fact
that the assembling, encasing, setting, and polishing are all done by hand.
Many of
B.R.M’s watches have been based upon the Valjoux 7750 movement, but the brand
is moving toward becoming a self-sustaining true manufacture. B.R.M’s
much-celebrated Birotor watch sports the French-produced Precitime caliber. Its
HYBRID BTY75 movement uses an automatic rotor that winds up a micro-alternator
that stores energy via a recuperator. In turn, this energy then runs a quartz
motor. This causes the watch to wind automatically and deliver quartz precision
with a six-month power reserve!
Highly mechanical and
dynamic in appearance, and taking plenty of inspiration from automotive design,
B.R.M timepieces are above all else progressive and wildly unique. In 2017
B.R.M became the official and exclusive partner of BMW Golf Cup France. In
addition, Portuguese golf star José-Filipe Lima endorses the brand, as do many race
car drivers, including Alexandre Cougnaud, Klaudia Podkalicka, and Liam Talbot.
